Auditions for Theater the 2018 Fringe show, "Love and Information," by Caryl Churchill, produced by Theater Apparatus.
When: Tuesday, and Wednesday, May 29 and 30. 7:00pm-8:30pm. (Please come as close to 7:00 as possible.)
Where: Focus Theater, 390 South Ave, Suite C, Rochester, New York 14620. Entrance is on Byron St. South Ave. is recommended for parking.
Actors needed: 8 actors to play several dozen characters. There is great flexibility in how each scene is cast, and so exact casting will depend on who auditions. Looking for actors of any gender, ages 22-80, preferably representing a diversity of types (in every way possible). Nontraditional casting to say the least.
To bring to auditions: a headshot and resume if you have one. If you don't, that's fine as well. All auditions will be readings available at the audition. No monologue necessary.
Rehearsals will be held at St. John Fisher College the last week of July until the start of the Fringe in mid September. 2-3 nights/week in August, days to be worked out with cast's schedules. 3 nights/week in September. No weekend rehearsals. One table read in mid June. No rehearsals August 13-14, Labor Day Weekend, or on the Jewish High Holidays. Conflicts will not be permissible during tech week (September 11, 12, and 13).
Performances: Two Shows are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 15 and Friday, September 21 in the early evening at the School of the Arts Black Box Theater.
Director: Jeremy Sarachan, who directed last year's Fringe show "Home of the Brave" (stories about life in the Trump era) at Writers and Books and 2016's "Far Away" at MuCCC, also by Caryl Churchill. He directed "The Taking of Simon Red's Glass Door Emporium" for the Toronto Fringe Festival, and numerous other Rochester-area productions, including "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" by Steve Martin and "The Memorandum" by Vaclav Havel.
The play: A series of very short two person plays (and one monologue) exploring life, love, knowledge and thought in the 21st century.
